Are you coming to Poland for an Erasmus semester or for an internship? As an Erasmus student myself, I can assure you that you would not get bored in Poland and that there are so many beautiful cities that you can visit that are filled with many tourist attractions that you should visit when you have some free time. Among the most popular Polish cities such as Warsaw and Krakow, you will be able to find several charming cities in Poland that are worth a visit. Pepe Housing created a list of places in Poland you might have never heard about. If you would like to find out more about places you can go for a weekend getaway, you should give this article a read.

Bydgoszcz

This city is situated in the north of Poland, on the Brda and Vistula rivers and it is also known as the 8th largest city in Poland. If you decide to visit this city, you should visit the old market square since you can find the most tourist attractions in the city such as several museums and a good number of festivals take place there which makes this area the cultural center of the whole city.

Malbork

Malbork is located in between the fields of Mazury and Elbląg lakes and this city is well known for the wonderful medieval castle which is originally three castles which makes the largest brick castle in the world. Another interesting fact about the Malbork castle is that it took 230 years for the castle to be built and it was mostly destroyed in the Second World War but it was mostly restored ever since. If you are a person who is interested in history and architecture, then it is highly recommended to go and visit Malbork during your stay in Poland.

Toruń

From my own perspective, this is one of the best places that I visited during my stay in Poland. Torun is a city which is very rich in medieval culture and history which makes it a perfect destination for those students who are history lovers. The most attractive places in the city include The Old Town and New Town, Teutonic Knight’s Castle and also a number of cathedrals.

Lublin

Lublin is a city which is located on the east side of the Vistula River, it is an ancient and beautiful city that has an old market square that dates back to the 6th century. It was previously the home of the largest Jewish Communities in Poland. There is another side to the city of Lublin, one can not only find a beautiful old town square but also there is great nightlife in the city.

Sopot

Sopot, located in between Gdansk and Gdynia which makes it very close to both of the cities, it is where the poles go and relax for a while or just take a calming walk on the beautiful promenade of Sopot.  This is a place for all those individuals who like to relax and just admire the beautiful sea view of the Tricity’s and for those who love a good fish dish, these three cities are known for wonderful fish dishes so just sit there relax and enjoy a good meal whilst overlooking the beautiful promenade.
